Hello!

One thing I appreciate about this community is the many members and groups who are out there bringing their Work to the world (...at least the Bay Area.) On more than one occasion I have mentioned Authentic SF to someone from one of my other communities, and have gotten the “oh, I’ve heard of them.” Or “I went to one of their games nights.” I get similar responses mentioning Arête, etc. – I’m continuously reminded of the 2 degrees of separation here in the Bay, this community and our sister communities.

I’ve sampled many of the workshops offered by you all, and I will continue my exploration of what you all offer to me. I love participating in workshops with a group of friends. And sometimes I desire to take a workshop from seasoned leaders outside of our community. I enjoy my food like my workshops: a variety of tastes and textures and colors!

Last year I went down to Esalen and took The Max: (the title speaks for itself!) a 5-day (literally non-stop for 5 days - Even the breaks are part of the workshop!) with Paula Shaw. Very intense, totally world class workshop (only happens once per year: there is one coming up in Dec. – high recommend for experienced workshopers.)

THIS year myself and a few other friends from our community are taking the upcoming Radical Honesty workshop w/ Led by Dr. Brad Blanton, best selling-author of Radical Honesty: How to Transform Your Life by Telling the Truth. (flying here from Sweden to do this weekend in Jan.2008)

What draws me to his work?  Going farther: As I mentioned before, I am drawn to this workshop because I want to take it with my friends. I want my friends and me to be exposed to something a little different – a slightly different take on authentic relating perhaps? Also I enjoy taking workshops with fellow participants who have already done a lot of their own personal work (you.) I think this lends to our ability to jump in at an already deeper level with the work and with each other.

Brad: While I have not worked directly with Brad I have done some Radical Honesty work. I have found that he makes some really interesting distinctions in authentic communication that I have not seen in anyone else’s work. I hear that he is a riot -and- a powerful, not to mention highly experienced facilitator/group leader. I also like that he seems to have his shit together: last year he ran for congress on the east coast. I would LOVE for more people of his caliber, who live radically honest lives, to run for government. What a world that would be!

As a human being who relates to other human beings and to you all, I find myself wanting to be surrounded by friends who have done this work – I have appreciated us all for having shared many workshop experiences with on another over the past few years. I want that to continue. I want that for myself. I want to be surrounded by more of you in January.

THE POWER OF HONESTY: A 3 Day, One Evening Workshop

Led by Dr. Brad Blanton, best selling-author of Radical Honesty: How to

Transform Your Life by Telling the Truth

In this workshop, you will learn how honesty leads to greater intimacy

and discover how to speak and listen honestly.  You will have the

opportunity to free yourself from the assumptions, illusions, beliefs

and expectations that cause stress and suffering. You will develop the

ability to interrupt your mind and eliminate stumbling blocks to

happiness and satisfaction.  You will experience the freedom that comes

from telling the truth and have techniques that give you a great

starting place to practice in your life. You will witness and/or

participate in hot seat work, gain an understanding and appreciation

 for

the "experienced experience" versus the non-experienced experience, and

practice all these techniques in experiential exercises.

On Monday evening, bring your friends & family, and anyone else with

whom you would like to have a more honest relationship. Guests will be

invited to participate in our closing session and have a taste of the

fun and freedom you have experienced.
